I have over 150 people on my list. I have sent out 75 prices. We have completed over 35 repairs. We have 2 crews out, this weekend we may up that to 4 crews out. If you have not received your estimate, please click below.

I work part time for CenterPoint Roofing doing estimates for new roofs, and I live in Triple Creek.

Several people have contacted me after discovering damage to their roof from hurricane Milton. I have 50+ voicemails and hundreds of texts. I’m adding everyone to the list, but it is very long and will take me several days to get to. If you’ve reached out to me, I will get to you as quickly as I can.

Jeff and his crew at CenterPoint have made it their mission to help repair roof damage from hurricane Milton. He is doing this at the cost of the materials and to pay his employees with a normal profit. We are doing our best to keep this as affordable as possible and get to everyone as fast as possible.

With that being said, if you are looking for a quick job there are plenty of people going around the neighborhood and offering services. Their prices are likely higher, but they may be quicker. (I gave an estimate for $400, and a neighbor received one for $1000 and $1200), I have had several that are two to three times CenterPoint.

Will Insurance Pay for my Roof

Insurance companies have tightened the rules. For small jobs, it might not be worth filing a claim. Many people have very high deductible. Filing a claim with an insurance company will cause your insurance rate to go up. It will also make it difficult to get insurance in the future. Jeff's rule of thumb is a new roof is not needed unless over 25% of the roof is damaged. The other element is age. Most of the roofs in the neighborhood are 30-year dimensional shingles. They usually last 22 to 25 years. The new roofs in the back (Lennar) are 20 year 3-tab roofs. These will last 15 to 18 years. Before you file a claim know the insurance policy. My policy is very specific. We aren't paying for a roof, just the damage prorated based on the age of the roof. We are not replacing you roof because the color doesn't not match. I also have a high deductible.

Need a tarp?

If you are doing a large job a roofer will put a tarp on, Blue roof through army core of engineers will put blue tarps on the house for free while you wait for roofing company. 888-766-3258. Getting a "free" tarp from the insurance company is the same as a claim. If your roof did not leak with 8 inches of rain, 85 miles sustained rain and 100 mile an hour plus gust you probably are Ok for a few weeks, month. Your roof is made of plywood, underlayment and shingles. Having missing shingles does not mean you have a leak. You may/will eventually but don't stress. Many of the leaks I have seen were the wind blowing rain sideways through the vents.

Proper tarp installation

A tarp should go over a ridge. If a tarp is just placed on the roof without going over a ridge, water can seep under the tarp. The reason most companies use sandbags is if you nail a tarp down you have increased the area of the roof to be replaced (you have to replace the shingles where the nails are.

CenterPoint Roofing.

Roofing laws

It is illegal for roofers to go door to door. It is illegal for them to put a door hanger on your door. Having said that, no one would fault them after a hurricane. Having said that, a roofer that says they can get you a new roof, hire and independent adjuster and hire lawyers breaking a law that was put in place because roofing companies were cheating the insurance companies. Not only is it illegal, but they also make you sign over your rights and you may be tied up in court for years, all while you have a blue tarp on your roof. See Chapter 489 Section 147 - 2021 Florida Statutes - The Florida Senate (flsenate.gov).

Unlicensed Roofers

Florida roofing contractors are required by law to have a state certified roofing license. To check on a contractors' license, visit https://www2.myfloridalicense.com/ the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. A licensed roofer will be insured and bonded.
